Press Release April 1st 2002 Wayne County’s Museum to Open New ExhibitsOn Friday, April 5th the Wayne County Historical Society will open its new exhibits for 2002 with a reception from 4:00 to 7:00 P.M. The public is invited to served. Images on Ice – The Ice Industry in the Wayne County Area tells the story of what was a common activity prior to electric refrigeration. Rare photos, graphics, video, and actual pieces of equipment used in the harvesting of ice are on display in the Torrey Galley.Trustee Carol Dunn guest curated the exhibit with technical help from Vince Griffis whose family was greatly involved in the industry. “Ice” props were made by the Wallenpaupack Area High School art students. An ice sculpture by Mark Crouthamel, will be the center of the buffet table.
