The Wayne County Historical Society museum and research library will open their 2011 season on April 23 from 10 to 4 pm, with by a special Open House from 4 to 7 pm. Two new museum exhibits will be unveiled and refreshments will be served during the free open house. "Jennie Wayne County's Own" will feature the work of Wayne County native Jennie Brownscombe (1860-1936), a much-loved international artist. The second exhibit is the eagerly awaited "Boy Scouts of America, Troop 1's First Hundred Years."
Permanent exhibits are "Movin' History of the D&H Canal Company," The Wayne County Experience," "Faces in Clay" and "Wayne County's Glass Window Panes to White House Glass." Due to popular demand, the "Fire! Fire! History of Fire Fighting in Wayne County" exhibit has been extended through 2011.
