Press Release: "Food for Thought" Series Continues

Saturday, September 5th’s speaker in the Wayne County Historical Society’s "Food for Thought" series is Christine San José, who will speak on "The Irving Cliff Hotel Fire: The Real Story." The magnificent luxury hotel atop Honesdale’s Irving Cliff was within days of its grand opening when it burned to the ground during the night of May 28, 1889, and Ms. San José will separate fact from speculation and attempt to answer questions raised over the last 120 years. The free talk begins at 4:30 pm in the multi-purpose room of the Wayne County Historical Society, 810 Main St., Honesdale, and light refreshments will be served.
