The Old Stone Jail will be open for free tours this Saturday, July 7, from 9 am until noon. The jail, built in 1859, served as a temporary home for Wayne County's miscreants until 1935 and is now opened on the first Saturday of warm weather months. The Wayne County Commissioners and the Wayne County Historical Society have joined forces to preserve this important historic site, located between 10th Street and the Wayne County Court House. For more information, call 570-253-3240 or check out the historical society's website at WayneHistoryPA.org.
