Press Release: Ab Rutherford: "Hebron County" July 27

CAlbert G. "Ab" Rutherford, attorney and author, who will present "Did You Ever Hear of Hebron County, Pennsylvania

The topic for the Friday, July 27 "Plain Speaking" series at the Wayne County Historical Society is "Did You Ever Hear of Hebron County, Pennsylvania?" and the speaker is Ab Rutherford. Hebron County was the dream of one of northeastern Pennsylvania's very early settlers, who was active at the time Wayne County was created in 1798. He began the village of Stantonville - and attendees are invited to guess where it was and what its present name is.

All "Plain Speaking" talks on local history are at 5 pm on Fridays at the Wayne County Historical Society, 810 Main St., Honesdale, and last approximately one hour. The August 3 speaker will be Jon Tandy on "Wilsonville under Water." For more information or a schedule, call the Wayne County Historical Society at 570-253-3240 or email Gloria McCullough at wchspa@ptd.net.
