Robert Eastman and Stourbridge Lion Model
This past Saturday a coal fired, working steam model (1 ½”scale or 1/8 size) of the famous Stourbridge Lion locomotive arrived in Honesdale from Sarasota, Florida. It is pictured at right with its previous owner Robert Eastman at the throttle who sold it very reasonable to the Wayne County Historical Society for its inclusion in its permanent Delaware & Hudson Canal Co. exhibit in its 810 Main Street, Honesdale museum. “The purchase price was covered by four of our generous members and my son drove it north,” said Sally Talaga, Executive Director of the society.

Volunteers are needed to formulate short and long term plans for the “Live Steam” model which may include outdoor “excursions” in Honesdale. Anyone interested should contact Sally Talaga at wchs@ptd.net or call 570 253-3240.
