Press Release: Old Stone Jail Opening
"Office" used by jailers at the historic Old Stone Jail, opened in 1859.
The historic Old Stone Jail will be open to the public again this Saturday,
June 2, with the volunteer "posse" ready to guide visitors through the
hoosegow. Admission is free, and the jail, located between the Wayne County
court house and 10th Street, will be open from 10 am to 1 pm. The Wayne
County Historical Society and Wayne County Commissioners join forces to
present this outstanding local attraction monthly during the warm weather
