On Saturday, October 23, in a ceremony at the Wayne County Historical Society's headquarters at 810 Main Street, Honesdale, the Hawley Silk Mill, LLC, represented by Grant Genzlinger, was presented with a 2010 Historic Preservation Award for its adaptive reuse of the Belmonte Silk Mill's Vault Building in Hawley. Originally home to the silk worms that provided the raw material for the silk produced in the mill, the building has been lovingly restored for use as a coffee house and, appropriately enough, renamed the Cocoon.

Nominations for these awards are accepted throughout the year and everyone is invited to participate. Ground rules and nomination forms are available online at waynehistorypa.org or at the museum, 810 Main St., Honesdale.
