Juan Espino, event chair for the Wayne County Historical Society's Harvest Festival 2009, recently visited Wayne Bank and received the bank's customary generous support for the Festival. Shown with Juan are former WCHS president Wayne Wilcha and Linda Moran.
The festival will bring back to Wayne County the popular group "Old Friends," a versatile group featuring folk, country, Irish and classic rock. Pictured is Jim Hull, who, in addition to guitar and vocals, is noted for his impressions of Elvis, Willie Nelson, Archie Bunker and Ronald Reagan. In their past performances at the Harvest Festival, "Old Friends" has encouraged toe-tapping, which often leads to dancing and singing along.
Dress, as always, is casual. Jeans are not only welcome but suggested.
The venue for Harvest Festival 2009 is the spacious Bryn Mawr Mountain Retreat near Honesdale and the date is Sunday, October 4, from 5 to 9 pm. Admission includes a buffet dinner, silent auction and Old Friends in concert. Price is $50 for adults, $20 6-13 years and children under 6 will be admitted free. For more information about tickets or space in the commemorative booklet, contact the Wayne County Historical Society, 570-253-3240, firstname.lastname@example.org or waynehistorypa.org.
