Press Release: Deadline for WCHS Church Bus Tour

Seats are still available on the Wayne County Historical Society's Church Bus Tour on October 9, but the deadline is approaching to reserve a spot. The school bus will leave the Route 6 Plaza at 30 am and return after dinner. The deadline for reservations is October 1, but the bus is filling up fast.

This year's tour will visit six churches and two historic buildings and includes both lunch and dinner. The Christ Episcopal Church in Indian Orchard, the former Seelyville Chapel, St. Patrick's Roman Catholic Church in Fermoy, St. Tikhon's Monastery in South Canaan, the former I. O. O. F. (Odd Fellows) building in Sterling (now home to the Historians of Sterling Township), the Moravian Church in Newfoundland and St. John's Episcopal Church in Hamlin. The sandwich lunch will be at the Waymart Hotel and roast beef dinner at the historic Parish House of St. John's Episcopal, formerly the Wimmers railroad station.

Price for the trip is $35 for WCHS members, $40 for non-members. To reserve a seat, send checks to the Wayne County Historical Society, PO Box 446, Honesdale, PA 18431.
